Garlic Infused Green Beans

Looking for simple veggie sides that the entire family with love?

Most kids, and adults can get down with green beans? Am I right?

Check out my Garlic Infused Green Beans that we make a LOT in my house. And the kids even scarf these down, too!

Here’s how to make it —

GARLIC INFUSED GREEN BEANS

Serves 4

Prep time 5 minutes

Cook time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound or so of freshly trimmed green beans
  • salt and fresh ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon evoo (extra-virgin olive oil) I like Kasandrinos evoo
  • 1 tablespoon butter (love me some Kerrygold)
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • pinch red pepper falkes
  • 1/2 lemon

Directions

  1. Bring a big pot of water to boil and add in a bit of sea salt.
  2. Toss in 1/2 pound trimmed green beans and “blanch” for 1-2 minutes. Drain and set aside. All this means is to quickly cook them.
  3. In a large skillet, add 1 tablespoon evoo and 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat.
  4. Add 2 cloves finely chopped garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Cook for 30 seconds and add in green beans. Stir well.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 3-5 minutes or until green beans are cooked through. I like mine crisp so at the 3 min mark.
  6. When it’s done, pour into a bowl and squeeze a half a lemon over the beans. Serve nice and hot. Enjoy!
