Watermelon Agua Fresca

This recipe was my number one shared, liked and commented post ever on both Instagram and Facebook. It was a hot day in Cali last summer and I wanted a super refreshing drink but without all the junk artificial ingredients that MANY store bought drinks contain. All I had in the kitchen was a huge, super ripe watermelon and a few limes. So, I put everything together with a little honey and magic happened. It was the recipe I brought to bbq’s all summer long and even spiked it with some vodka and tequila for the adults at one party and it was a hit!

Try this one out! I promise you’ll like it. PS – You can totally swap the watermelon for what you have on hand – peaches, strawberries, nectarines, whatever. Just blend, add honey until it’s sweet, serve over ice and you’re good to go.

Watermelon Agua Fresca
8 cups watermelon
2 limes zested and juiced
1/4-1/2 cup honey to taste
sliced limes for garnish

Blend watermelon, lime juice and honey until nice and smooth. Feel free to strain through a fine mesh sieve or not. I do both depending on the mood I’m in. Taste and add additional honey if needed. Serve over ice in a big glass and garnish with a lime slice. Add 1 ounce of tequila or vodka for a fun adult drink. Amazing either way!!

Recipe adapted from Rachael Ray Magazine.
